It's an interesting way to look at this, and we're all biased by our own perspectives and experiences.
We also don't get an accurate answer. If we were talking about CFs, we could definitively see who turns into Mickey Mantle, Griffey Jr or Trout, and who doesn't. They'd all get their 650 ABs, and have to run down fly balls. They either perform, or they don't, but it's on them.
A QB's level of success turns on a lot of factors that are outside of his control. (Brees washed out in San Diego, e.g.) It's possible that KOC is much better at evaluating QBs than anyone else, but it seems more likely that he/KAM are average at picking QBs, but are better than many at putting a QB in position to succeed.
My memory fades, but when Maye played the Gophers....I wasn't impressed. Then I realized the SOB completed a lot of 3rd down passes. Irritating for a Gophers fan to watch.
Now you're talking MY nerd language, Matthew. Thinking about how we think. Philosophical stuff. That was a fun trip inside your perceptions.
Great stuff Matthew! But why is there a portrait of Christian Ponder at the end of the article? 😂
To me, that ink blot looks like Christian Ponder and Tarvaris Jackson holding hands while riding piggyback on Daunte and Rich Gannon.
“We see through our personal and cultural lens, according to the habits of a lifetime, which are shaped by a particular culture.”

It sounds to me that if they can't get Maye they should wait for Penix or Nix. Do not bet the farm on Mc Carthy.
