Nice Job Paul, Good to have you back for a feature! I've been getting more on the St. Juste in the 4th train as of late. 6'3" and 200 lbs physical corner who tackles? Sounds like a Zim guy all the way, doesn't it?
And I think that your sim would be a hell of a draft. Seems like it fills a lot of immediate holes, while also getting depth and future players in place!
Love Bateman, but see little reason for Vikings to draft him for all the reasons you cite. Better for him to go to a team that would use him.
Love St-Juste, makes a world of sense for Vikings for all the reasons you cite. Good for him for his Senior Bowl week and pro day. Incredibly impressive in an interview on PFF’s Austin Gayle on 2 for 1 Drafts as well.
Good article. I would love to see them address the WR3 position, but with the Gladney news, it seems more likely to me they will select another CB within the first 3 rounds, while ignoring WR again, and like Mr. Coller says, (in my poorly paraphrased version) they found a Hunter in round 3 and Diggs in round 5 and they seem content to keep trying to do that again...
Vikings picking up a quality 3rd WR sounds nice... but that feeling quickly flutters away when you think of who's calling the plays. Like buying a Ferrari while living in the artic... why make the pick if you can't or won't utilize the asset. Trading back is viable, but it would be doubly insulting to do such a thing and then not even run the offense with that new player in mind. Same logic if it was a defensive player. Strongly believe first 3 picks should NOT be on the sidelines.
I'm in your choir, Doop. If I could I'd bold your "won't utilize" because Zimmer could, but won't. If a WR is drafted in the first round it's for Zimmer's replacement. On that note I don't think there's much to worry about in Rick and Mike drafting for the future, even if it's the right thing for the team long-term. They need players who can step in and contribute as much as possible in year one otherwise they won't be around to see them in year two.

Good article. Picking up a WR3 would be a big help to the offense. Bateman would be a good pick at #1.

I'm going to keep conducting the WR3 train until it happens haha
