I’ve come around on Love a bit after watching more of him, but I would be out on trading up to get him. Cost is too high, and they have too many needs and too many older players to be giving up a ton of draft capital on him. I am still a little skeptical of his frame and his upright running style as well. Doesn’t matter when you’re blowing by guys, obviously, but I think it could keep him from being the Bijan/Saquon/Gibbs level guy you’d need him to be to justify the high pick. I’d be fine with him at 18, but frankly even then they should trade down at that point if somebody is offering a haul for him.
Yeah, at least at the pick slots we’re talking about here. If you’re moving up to 15-16 to get him, sure. Not my preference, but I’m not going to go nuts about it. If we’re going up to 10 or higher, I’m all the way out on that.

There's another aspect to this, though. NBA-style tanking doesn't work in the NFL for obvious reasons. But, any extra resources used on the '26 roster come at a cost and should worsen the '27 draft picks.
Scenario A: the team trades a 1st. 2nd and a 4th to move up and take Love. The FO was right, Love wins ROY and helps the team win 11 games instead of 8. Now the 2027 draft slot is 23, instead of 13.
Scenario B: the team trades its 1st for a 3rd and a 1st next year. Without a 1st round pick, the team wins 7 games instead of 8, and now the 2027 draft slot is 10, the 2nd rounder is at 42, and there is an extra 1st at 18.
Scenario A sacrifices the chance to take a QB in order to chase a loss in the WC round. Scenario B provides more than enough picks to move into the top 3.
Yes to all of this. The absolute last thing that a team, bereft of young talent on rookie Ks, should do is light more draft capital on fire trading up for any non-QB position, and especially one where it's very difficult to get surplus value.
