I think Hercules is not going to make it. When he was on the field last year, I really don't remember him making an impact. I think Beebe is the odd man out. He gets hurt and I just don't see the appeal. Collins is a surprise because they have put a lot of time into developing him, but someone has to be the odd man out, although I wish it was Elflein (a known commodity).

Well, about that 53 man roster projection, Reiff probably won't be on it after all.

The Ngakoue deal looks pretty good if you only factor in the draft picks. It’s even defensible as a 1 year rental and it’s terrific if you’re right in predicting a long -term contract. But if you factor in the possible loss of the Vikings’ starting left tackle, the deal—especially if there’s only one year—seems dicey at best. Let’s hope they’re offering a respectful and attractive restructuring to Riley.

Hey Matthew, any thoughts on Dan Chisena moving to safety? It sounds like they like him on special teams with his speed and I saw some reports that he made a few special teams tackles as a gunner on Sunday. Any chance he sneaks onto the end of the roster or practice squad this year?

Practice squad is pretty likely. Otherwise, I wish him good luck as a safety. It's incredibly difficult to make it without an NFL experience at any position. Best he can probably hope for is a Matthew Slater type career where he's a great special teamer

You mentioned Harrison Hand, who I believe was a 5th round pick with potential to transition to safety. I haven't heard anything about him from any beat writer this training camp. Any thoughts on how he's looked? Have they tried him at safety or only corner?

They haven't tried him at safety as far as I've seen. I think he's a guy they'll be able to get onto the practice squad and see if anything's there in the future
