If Darnold has a game like this in LA that will make the decision to move on next season rather easy in my eyes.

KOC needs to take a look in the mirror also because he had a run game going that he completely abandoned when it was clearly rolling at times.

The worst case scenario happened last night. Nobody will remember the 14 - 3 season. They will remember this game on a national stage. This is the thing that Vikings fans fear Because this is the kind of thing that gives them fodder to point fingers at us to say, see? You guys never had a chance.

Maybe but I doubt it. Some will shout that but it's not the consensus like it was (rightly) in 2022. The final story will really depend on how the playoffs go. I think Darnold laid an egg and unless the next game or two is good it will hurt his reputation more than the Vikings in total.

We can blame KOC all we want with the play calling, but my gosh, if Sam hits 2 of 4 in the red zone, this is a completely different game. Addison wide open twice in the end zone. Not to mention the misses to Jefferson.

A bad week on many fronts. It sucks, but it’s ok.

We get the benefit of seeing next week. Can KOC adjust? Does having Cam R. help vs St Louis? Does JJ bounce back?

14-3 isn’t easy. Do let’s save KAM for the offseason.

I was feeling so sorry for myself I couldn’t read anything about the Sunday night game. I had to remind myself I had no expectations for the Vikings this year. The crowd at the game was hungry for a win and the Lions obliged with a beauty. I can’t blame anyone for the loss, Sam didn’t have his best game but the whole offense was rattled. The noise the defensive scheme stifled any attempts for the Vikings to get on track. The Lions have a hell of a team. They have a great fan base the redemption story is pretty cool. Do they have what it takes to go all the way? Who knows, their offensive line is top notch. They have very good skill players. They were my favorites before the season began, I’m not quitting on the Vikings, they have made winter bearable.

Ouch. Sam has airmailed way too many the last few weeks. It has been a trend but this week it killed us in big moments. Several throws didn't need to be high to get over LBs or other defenders. At times it seemed like he was turnover averse (2 passes to Jets in the endzone) but others (Hock down the middle) he was just off. He threw the wrong side of Addison on that deep ball. He was under loads of pressure but also just off. I know many are sold on him coming back but I think next week actually matters a lot for that prospect now.

KOC isn’t perfect but he wasn’t the issue yesterday. Darnold reverted back in a hard way. I kept figuring KOC, and the positive reinforcement, would help turn him back into his near MVP self but nothing helped. Whatever happens next week will help the front office determine next year. All is not lost as it was better for them to get whooped than to lose by a few. They hopefully can move on quickly to LA.

Given what everyone thought on the Vikings to start the season they had a good regular season. I really wanted them to win tonight and they had chances but now we go on to LA and see what happens. Because honestly the best I thought at the start of the season was 10-7
