I think Arif did a big article on that Stafford was a high variance QB and for a team that is on paper not the strongest team (compared to the very top teams (Chiefs/Bills/Lions) that gives you more of a chance to win (though it also gives you more of a chance to get blown out).

Also, let`s get real... Who had 7-2 on their bingo card?

I had McCarthy replacing Darnold at QB after a 1-4 start….which shows what I know

Honestly if McCarthy was healthy he probably would have started after the bye even with the current record. We will see how the season ends but Darnold has exceeded expectations.

I thought McCarthy would be starting after the bye, I agree with you that Darnold has exceeded expectations this season.

I have to agree with this... Especially how Darnold has been....

Foe whatever reason Darnold was surprisingly inaccurate with a few of his throws. If he was on his game two of his throws would have been touchdowns. Hopefully, better luck next week.

I'd be much more concerned if all of these turnovers were a product of poor decision-making. I actually feel like Darnold was worse in the Jets game than the last two weeks. Not making excuses, he to play better, but the first INT is really the only one that you could say was definitely a poor decision. Jefferson was open on the next two, they were just poorly-placed balls. Looking at the replays, he didn't/couldn't step into either one of those throws because he had pressure in his lap, and they ended up a yard or two off.

I think most of us realize Darnold won’t be going anywhere. I wish the offense would, I hate to say it because I like watching long passes, try to dink and dunk a bit more. They have good run after catch receivers. Detroit does this, and speaking of terrible games, Goff and my favorite Stroud had moments of stinkatude last night. As the philosopher and former qb once said “relax enjoy the season.” No one thinks the Vikings are going to the Super Bowl, but they’re way better than I thought.

Matthew - that chart you posted on Twitter from Sam Hoppen sums that game up perfectly. One of the oddest games I’ve ever seen…
