They were very lucky today they weren't playing a younger version Brady or this game would've been uglier than it was. But a great read Mathew under the circumstances. Has to be very different to write after a game like this.
What next? Baily costs us 13 points... THE GAME... Cousins remains the rolodex... takes 6 sacks 4 of which were avoidable easily... rushes for more yards than expected, completely misses seeing wide-open WRs then makes sensational passes. I still see him as undependable regardless how well he did in November. We should have won this game. My guess is Bailey will be on the street but there's really no rhyme or reason for his misses. We truly killed ourselves. On the positive side the rushing yards were great. Cook did much better than forecasted. Our rookies played better. The 2021 preseason is progressing.
I have also been calling this the 2021 preseason from the start. Though I’m frustrated that we lost a game the we surprisingly could have won, we did much better than I anticipated beforehand.
First is the atrocious DPI call - How do you even let that happen? By running on second down with under a minute left?! Brady should have never gotten the ball back.
The misses, yes were bad, but the offense didn’t help matters. I’m not taking away any blame from Bailey, he should be gone tomorrow, if he isn’t already, but the offenses complete refusal to go deep is a problem. Maybe it’s on Cousins maybe not, we’ll have to see the All-22.
It’s still so fitting for such a bad kicking performance (which I think is the worst since the ‘60s) to coincide with a call that hasn’t happened in 20 years in the same game...Only the Vikings...
What makes it even more funny is Zimmer called a timeout before the Hail Mary and their strategy was to have Todd Davis face guard (mug) Gronk down the field?
Zimmer wants to play ball control offense but it doesn’t work with a weak defense. The offense needs as many possessions as it can get as his style makes it imperative to score every possession if you want to limit possessions. Never seen a team that was down 17 look like it was ahead by 17 so methodically bleed the clock down in 3rd quarter. Maybe a little sense of urgency?
Dakota Dozier with another half a sack today, he’s approaching Dru Samia level. Brett Jones please!
Cousins was not the reason we lost but he’s turtling in pocket and sacking himself the past few weeks.

SKOL!
The perfect headline, Matthew.
