The Vikings filled out two holess on their roster. JJ McCarthy at QB and Dallas Turner at the Edge and pass rush. A smart move to trade the 1.11 for Jets 1.10 and prevent anyone from trading in and taking McCarthy. Nice trade of the 1.23 to grab Dallas. We can worry about the 2025 draft after the 2024 season.

I am pleased… KAM and KOC are leading us out of the perpetual, Ground Hog Day, .500 purgatory. Take that swing and run with it! New Horizons! FOOTBALL!!!

Its great not to waste draft capital but I think also think it's a really good thing that JJ didn't cost us 3 firsts to move up. He doesn't have to live under that extra pressure that he cost us a ransom. If he turns out to be Kirkesque, borderline top 10 but cheap it will go over better. Saints fans never fully appreciated Davenport. He was injured yes, but graded well there. Problem was perception. They traded an extra 1st to get up for him and then he turned out not to be JJ Watt. Big fan of how this played out.

Good job overall. I presume the cost of getting the Pats to move off three and get to Maye was insurmountable, so plan B to get JJ was executed to perfection. Not giving up hardly anything so they could trade up and land Dallas Turner at 17 was HUGE!

Outside of trading up for Maye (and it now looks like NE saying "we're open for business" was complete BS and a waste of everyone's time), this was absolutely the best-case scenario. Looking forward to seeing the swings we take this weekend, but they've already hit a home run, IMHO.

Late in the season I wondered if McCarthy would be in this year’s draft and the chances the Vikings would end up with him. I liked what I saw in the National Championship game. I know he wasn’t the reason Michigan won, their defense crushed Penix, Michigan had a run game and some great talent on offense. I did see some dawg in McCarthy, Harbaugh saw something in him as well. McCarthy won’t ever be a top talent, he might develop into player, time will tell. He’s a young man with tread left on his tires, it will be interesting to see if he develops. The NFL sells hope, I’m more hopeful now than this time last year.
