The biggest question is why didn’t we go for two when we made it 25-21? We get two there, a field goal gives us a two possession lead. I totally agreed with the fourth down call, but that’s not even a question if we had gone for two. The difference between a 5 point lead vs. 4 point lead is nothing that late in the game.

That surprised me as well.

Can someone please explain why they keep trotting out Dru Samia? He’s the worst football player I’ve ever seen. And that’s probably an understatement.

Because they inexplicably passed on Will Hernandez in the 2018 NFL draft, for which no one will ever forgive them.

Yeah wow, cant they just throw any linemen in there? Cant get worse. He constantly missing guys, getting trucked or a penalty.. Hes still not ready or may never be.. I swear hes the reason they lost to Titans and now Seattle..need 2 new guards next year.

Maaaaaybe he’ll be the reason we get a Zach Wilson and our team will finally be forgiven by the football gods for also passing up on the Wilson who just thumped us again?

I feel like the game came down to Irv Smith getting caught watching the play on 3rd and 4 with 2:31 left in the game. Adam breaks a tackle and no one appears more surprised than Irv, who fails to turn his head around and block or even step in the way of the two Seattle defenders that smother Thielen inches short of that ultimately critical 4th down. He appears almost to be watching the play unfold from the sidelines. A persistent blocker is gold in this league.

If you believe the NFL is primarily a reliably entertaining activity, then Sunday night’s 27-26 set back in Seattle did what the NFL does. If you are a Vikings fan, it is another in a too-long line of heartbreaking finishes. For the record, I chose what Zimmer chose, gain a yard to win the game and play kneel-down and go home 2-3. We know what happened. Our offense is getting better by the game, and so is the defense playing kids on the back end that are as green as beans curling up out of the ground. Both units are getting better, and let’s be frank, 2021, assuming we’re all here, is where this Vikings team is going to reassert itself as an NFL power. All the growing the Vikings are doing this year will make the team better in 2021.

Matthew Coller likes to talk about Good Kirk and Bad Kirk like he’s a player with a split personality. Coller is right; we get both Kirk’s whether we want to or not. We saw too much of Bad Kirk tonight—three turnovers—and that was the primary negative determinant in the game. We’re stuck with Kirk—so there’s no sense in bitching about how bad he plays, or praising him for how good he plays. He is who he shows he is...a fellow that bounces between slightly below average to slightly above average. But we all know this: In a game like tonight’s, you don’t want to be the team that’s quarterbacked by Kirk Cousins.

Completely agree and as a result of having the same philosophy I am more settled about this year. Its much easier to see the improvements and not worry about the game outcome per se, when its more a preseason for 2021 than anything else.

As noted previously, I see this year a purely the preseason for 2021 and in that regard, this was a game of great improvement on the defensive side of the ball. I fully agreed with Zimmer's call on fourth and one. I will continue to support that mentality especially when we were killing them rushing the football. Part of the issue is that Madison does not bounce out to the same extent that Dalvin does but Madison was outstanding in the game. I will not be critical of his running style. I think, like with other players, he continues to improve with experience. I was proud of how that young defense kept it together and continued to press forward. There were a few plays that hurt us but all in all the defense showed improvement. I also thought Rudolf should have received more positive review for some outstanding blocking. Related to the Offense, the running game was great. We had both good kirk and bad kirk... good kirk was really good and bad kirk was really bad. As far a moral as a fan, I'm good :) We improved a great deal, we demonstrated what we could do especially if we make a few less mistakes AND we're in the running for a high draft pick. My only significant criticism is already being beaten to death. Dru Samia... what's worse is I don't see them replacing him. That's it SKOL!!

I will watch the game in a few minutes, I could only listen to the game until I arrived home. Based on what I heard Dru Samia was terrible and we had good and bad kirk in the game... one interception, two fumbles and one in the final drive where honestly I do not believe he could have brought us back anyway. He's not that kind of QB. I thought the Defense was much improved and gave Wilson a heck of a challenge through most of the game. I am disappointed because we were so close. I agree 100% with going for it at the 4/1. Like I stated previously, 2020 is the preseason for 2021 in my way of thinking. So... all things considered, I heard a good deal of improvement and a clear determination that Samia needs to walk. SKOL.
