Couldn’t agree more with all of this Sam! And if giving Kirk more responsibility ends up failing drastically, then that tells us everything we need to know about our QB situation going forward.
Nice story Sam. It's time for the Vikings to tell Mike Zimmer this is the 2000's not the 80s and 90s if he doesn't like it then it's time to move on from him there's a lot of offensive minded coaches available.
Great read Sam. I love me some personnel talk. What do you think about something of a hybrid between 21 and 11 personnel, replacing the fullback with your passing back.
The Packers did it all the time between Aaron Jones, Jamaal Williams, and even Tyler Ervin at times. They were able to horizontally manipulate linebackers in the quick passing game, similarly to how the wide zone play action manipulates linebackers vertically.
I only remember a couple snaps last year when Abdullah was on the field at the same time as Cook. I think they could do more of that, whether they re-sign Abdullah, or if they pick my 2021 draft crush - Demetric Felton. If the goal is to keep defenses in base and create big passing plays, swapping a tight end for a skilled receiving back can do that while opening up even more options.
I like your thinking. The Vikings had two terrific pass-catching backs the last two years between Abdullah and Boone who gathered dust on the sideline. I'm all for getting CJ Ham some YAC, but those two roster spots were not utilized well on offense. Either roster them and use them, or spend those spots on OL and DL.

Stop running on 2nd and long. Get Dalvin involved in the passing game in space, (not a screen either). That should improve scoring.
Yeah, don't get me started on all the wasted second-down plays.

hope this doesn't hurt too much, but 2000 is the midpoint between 1979 and now... It's the 2020's hahaha. But your point is absolutely correct!
