"This squad is centered around a bunch of players who are either in their primes or on the back half of their careers. There’s no time to waste." Which is why I have zero issues with them taking a guard at 24 rather than trading back. Prior to the draft I was hoping they would trade back but since their guy was there I'm glad they took him. No messing around. No funny business. Get your guy.

Great article nailing all the issues, with some exc quotes from team leaders like Metellus, O’Neal, Greenard. This should be a fun year ahead, fully acknowledging the youth at QB, tougher schedule, and wkness (my opinion) in CB position.

One thing though about the tougher schedule... Everybody in the NFC north has a pretty tough schedule (Chicago, coming in last place in 2024 has it a bit easier) so while 14 wins is a pipe dream, winning the North should not be.

But Matthew pointed out correctly on paper this is potentially a great team but games are not played on Madden...

Injury luck will of course be huge.

Agreed. The impact of the schedule will affect overall records, and by extension the likelihood that only two teams in the Norris make the playoffs, instead of last year's three. But that's just fine; no-one should feel optimistic about the playoffs after finishing third.

The course for this offseason was charted by previous decisions. A team with a young QB cannot build through the draft without having *checks notes* actual draft picks.

Once we got to March 2025, KAM made a calculated risk in acquiring injured players--they would represent better value because of those injuries, and the team is positioned to maximize their health going forward. We'll see how it goes, but it was a logical plan.
