Some team is going to take a chance, might as well be the Vikings. Sports betting is so much fun, of course young players are going to try it. Average fans think they know more than the sports books. Imagine how much more the people who play the game know. Fasten your seatbelts!
Never thought I’d say, “I’d rather have Wentz”, but here we are. Sorsby is a good runner, but he looks like he has mediocre arm strength and accuracy to me, and I don’t see much outside of wide open first read stuff on his highlight reels. I don’t think I’d even take him in the second round if he was in the draft this year. Assuming you’d have to let Wentz go or trade McCarthy, right? Otherwise a team could just pluck him from your practice squad after you spent a pick on him. Maybe that’s not a worry if it only takes a 5th or 6th to get him, but it probably only makes sense if we’re jettisoning one of the QBs already on the starting roster. So if you already decided you were moving on from McCarthy, sure go ahead. If not, I wouldn’t bother.
I wouldn't touch him with a 50 foot longboat oar. Imagine this QB room:
An athletic midget with good arm talent but questionable study and mental aspects of the game and a play style which cannot be dismissed.
A young relatively inexperienced highly motivated kid just learning the nuances of the pro game which still needs work.
Some raw kid who has demonstrated off field gambling problems.
Frankly IMO the gambling thing within the NFL is chock full of hypocrisy.
NFL Report brought to you by Fan Duel or whatever.
You might want to rethink that second paragraph. Just ignorance abound.

Nice article Mathew but they already have Addison's off the field to worry about.

The team does have an “extra” third-round pick… but it’s also supposed to be a very deep draft in 2027.
It seems like a huge risk for a top-100 pick, and much of what NFL teams do is based around amelioration of risk.
If the team wanted to throw a sixth-round pick at him, though, it might be worth it.
