First of all, what? It's been that long since gladiator won the Oscar? I am so old.
Lots of fantastic behind the scenes info about that season I didn't know. Marino? I had no idea. Fantastic comparison between those seasons and as others have said a fun walk-down memory lane.
“Daunte,” he said, “knew the best thing Daunte could do is just go be Daunte.” One of the key phrases of the article because that attitude right there I think is what McCarthy has in spades.
A very enjoyable analysis that sparked my memories of the Culpepper era. In particular, I recall one game when Culpepper scrambled and broke loose from the linebackers. A lone defensive back came running forward, and Culpepper literally ran him over, continuing down the field. They had to assist the DB off the field. Culpepper was a scrambling beast who terrorized the secondary.
And Nola and the Falcons in the West, which makes complete sense because Atlanta is definitely west of. . .Savannah?
Dallas in the east makes way too much money, but the real shame of realignment was the Fish in the East and the Colts in the South. Manning/Brady in the same division would have been fun.

Agreed about that quote, Steph. Lots of similarities in the way the two QBs comport themselves.
Also, I agree: We’re old.
Multiple times, this examination had me saying, “This was 25 years ago?” Also, it had me saying, “Gosh, 25 years was so long ago.” Hahaha

He was almost unfair in that regard.
Outstanding comparison. Culpepper had talent but I think JJ has more upside potential.
Ha! Yes. Tampa in the Central?
Quite the trip down memory lane. It made zero sense, but I still kind of miss the Bucs being in the division.

Good way of putting it.
