Spot on, Coller. As usual, your analysis is in-depth, well thought out and thorough. The NFL media landscape can be quite the $hit Show. Clickbait, shock headlines and this week’s entertainment targets. You do a great job. I still believe those clowns in Plano, Texas, owe you a Diet Dr Pepper endorsement!
The clickbait and shouty shows seems to be endemic to our times and permeates every topic and every subject. As you said being first or having the hottest take sells much better than thoughtful discussions.
We've all bought groceries, we've all seen tabloids as we wait to check-out, and clearly some people actually buy them. But, the vast majority of us understand they aren't real, we don't react emotionally, and would anyone think of taking the time to write a response to the "authours"?
The delivery has changed, the product remains the same. We can still choose whether to be on twitter, just as we can choose whether to pick something up from the stand and purchase it.
Williams came into the week highly touted and left showing he was worthy of the hype. He was the best player in attendance all week long, in my humble opinion
Seems to be similar in skill set to Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins though obviously the competition Georgia faced was different than what Morgan State faced. That said, his production was solid. The reigning MEAC Defensive Player of the Year finished his career with 31.0 sacks, setting a new program record. This includes 10.0 sacks this past season
Always enjoy your comments and insights. We are going to see takes on JJM from both angles, good and bad. We’ve been told by so many Vikings “media” how great JJM is going to be, how many Super Bowls he will win, etc. Time will tell where he falls. However, I would love to see you stop with the built in excuses you, and so many others, are already planting in case the season doesn’t go as planned. Yes, perhaps a tougher schedule but also so many upgrades through FA that should negate said arguments. JMO.
Gotcha. Well, you get the point. I don't think I would call anything a "built in excuse" rather than just realities of the NFL and factors that could impact the outcome.
One cannot keep track of everything, but I have yet to see someone credentialed say "JJMC is going to win this many SBs."
One can and should disagree from time to time, otherwise what's the point of this? However, it seems a bit odd to suggest that Matthew is somehow responsible for what other people say. His point has consistently been this is an excellent circumstance for a first time starting QB, but with any such player there is very high variance.
That's how these things work. JJMC looked good last August, though no-one actually knows who will pan out until they play on Sundays.
It’s not excuse making. It’s reality. This schedule is one of the toughest in the league, not one of the easiest. No one knows what to expect with the QB but Matthew has seen him up close. Take a breath.

To an extent, certainly.

Off topic but one of the 2 tryout players the Vikings signed today is
Elijah WIlliams and he might be very interesting

Nobody in the real Vikings media is saying he's going to win a bunch of super bowls
Now I will agree with you, as I don’t think Purple Daily is “real” media, but they have mentioned it on their show.
