I'd add EJ Henderson to this list. He was a very good MLB for a while there.

Definitely. The way he overcame that horrific injury was amazing

How about Jared Allen? Is he on his way to the actual HOF or will he have to settle for the HOVG?

I haggled over whether to include him. If he doesn't make the Hall of Fame, he will go down as the absolute best players not to be in...but the reason I didn't include him is because I think he's almost a lock. 136 sacks is 12th all time and he was a four-time All-Pro. It would be shocking if those stats didn't get him in. He's a full season's worth ahead of Dwight Freeney

i don't see why bryant is not at least on the vikings ring of honor.he is two interceptions behind hof saftey paul krause on the vikings all time list .krause had 53 picks to bryants 51.infact no other tandem match the 104 picks as teammates together .

Maybe it's because I've been watching a ton of games from when I first became an Vikings fan in the late 90s and early 2000s, but I'd argue that some of the defensive players from that era need to be on this list. My two specific ones are IRIP) Orlando Thomas (22 career picks with the Purple, led the league with 9 in his rookie year along with 4 fumble recoveries and should have been defensive ROY) and Ed McDaniel (Made a pro bowl and anchored the Vikings defense in that time)

You're absolutely right. Some of those 90s defenses were terrific. I haggled over both McDaniel and Orlando Thomas... maybe Thomas has a better case than Griffith? Close call

Thomas led the league in picks with 9 as a rookie, and that was awesome. He was a good player, but I'm not sure I'd put him in the Hall of Very Good.

He has more career picks and fumble recoveries (as a Viking) than Griffith, but Griffith was for sure the better player. Griffith made two all-pro teams and a pro bowl, plus was a better tackler and could move around in the box if they needed. I just think Orlando Thomas is undervalued, that's all.

Well stated. Undervalued is a good word for him. I agree that he was overlooked during his career, rest his soul.

What about Ed White, Jeff Siemon and John Gilliam? All of them made at least 4 Pro Bowls and Ed White was a multiple All Pro selection.

Good ones. Funny about Ed White.. looks like he didn't get much recognition until he was in his 30s and then just kept playing. Siemon is a great pull. How about Gilliam averaging 22 yards per catch one year!

Foreman mentions Ed White every time I talk with him about his former teammates who might also deserve of HOF consideration. Says White was the strongest man in the league back then. ... Also, CF laughed/scoffed at being only the 20th best Viking ever, per that "Approximate Value" measure. He tries to be diplomatic, but he's salty.

Actually I made a mistake in the article, Chuck is actually 26th...but look who's ahead of him. Almost all legends https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/min/career-av.htm

I have never seen that list before. It is hard to believe that Steve Hutchinson is at 54. It's crazy that a HOF like Jim Langer or great WRs like Art Powell and Harold Jackson have 0s. No surprise that D. Underwood didn't make the list at all.

The reason Hutch would be so low is because it's only his Vikings career. If it included Seattle he'd be among the best

The HOF in ridiculous when it comes to the Vikings. I might be wrong but I think the only Viking ever to make it in on the first ballot was Randy Moss. I know Alan Page, Randall McDaniel and John Randle were not first ballot inductees but yet they are on the NFL 100th Anniversary All-Time Team. Other fans complain about a bias, but in the Vikings case it is real.
